This is a quick description of a possible solution for suspect follow-up of the laboratory module when the referral unit is not registered in the system.

1. Referral unit - (out of system) Forward suspect to perform exams;

2. Laboratory - Register the suspect in the system and select the exams to be performed;
- If referral unit is not listed in the system (drop down list of units), it's entered as a text field, but an owner unit is selected (to when results are available);

3. Laboratory - Register exam results of the suspect;

4. System - Dispatch mail messages to the responsibles in the owner unit of the suspect (the referral unit, if available, or the owner unit selected during step 2);

5. Unit responsible for the suspect - There are 3 options:
5.1 The suspect is not confirmed, so an outcome is registered to the suspect;
5.2 The suspect is confirmed, and the owner unit redirects the case to another unit (which will handle the case) - System will dispatch a message to the redirected unit and change the owner to the new unit redirected;
5.3 The suspect is confirmed, and toe owner unit will start the treatment of the case;
